Photo Quality and Size

Photos should be jpeg or jpg format and clear and bright. The larger the digital image, the better the finished
results will be.

Photos should be large with a high resolution. You camera should be set to at least 3M (3 mega pixels) or the
“Best” setting.

You may also scan a photo, please use the setting of 300 DPI or higher on your scanner. Do not resize or
crop your pictures. This decreases the quality.

If you are in doubt about the size of your image, a Good Rule of thumb is if the image is too large to view full
size on your monitor, it’s big enough!  If you need any help,
feel free to ask!

Posing

You may use any pose you would like. The whole subject must be visible with no limbs or body parts cut out of
the picture.

Please keep in mind that the pose needs to work with what you want to have done.  For example, We can’t
use a picture of a child standing and make a portrait of them sitting on a horse. Check out the
Gallery  for
examples of poses.

Clothing is important as well. We do not add extensive make-up or clothing so please keep attire in mind when
choosing your photos to use. We would have a hard time turning your child into a mermaid if they were
wearing a sweater! Appropriate costumes or outfits are very important. You may send us several photos to
choose from if you are not sure what would work best. We can also help you with posing suggestions.
